Research focus

Our academic research focuses on all aspects of digital transformation, particularly in marketing, market research and management. The main topics include:

  • Digital marketing in terms of psychological foundations, e.g. Free Mentality, Dunning-Kruger effect.
  • Digital and digitalized business models, e.g. freemium, crowdfunding, influence of social networks, sharing economy.
  • Methodological improvements in psychometric procedures due to improved computational power, e.g. covariance-based structural equation models, correction of measurement error bias, implicit measurement procedures.

Our research is based on quantitative methods to analyse consumers, managers and students by means of questionnaires, tests and observations, which contribute to disciplines such as marketing, entrepreneurship, business informatics and innovation management. We see ourselves as psychology-oriented researchers.
