Institute library

• Literature can be requested on site, via e-mail (wiwi-bibliothek@tu-clausthal.de) or using our public space via Chat WIWIBIB.
  • Please use the sub-catalog to search for specific literature (link to the sub-catalog). Please always include the authors, title and the complete signature of the books in your inquiries.
  • The Chat is available: From Monday to Thursday from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.
• You can also copy and scan documents using our multi-function printer integrated to the campus network (0.05€ per printed b/w page; billing currently in cash only).
• A binding machine for ring-binding is available on site, which can bind loose pages up to 280 sheets in A4 format. For this service we charge an administration fee of €1.00 per binding.

The library is not staffed outside of opening hours.

The library will be closed from 26.12.2022 to 06.01.2023.

The inventories of the institute library can be found in this sub-catalog of the university library. Digital literature inventories can be found, among others, in the main catalog of the university library or the OPAC from the university network or via VPN.

Books can be borrowed during the opening hours. Journal volumes, different lexicons, handbooks and encyclopedias are exempt. However, they can be copied or scanned on site (0.05€ per printed b/w page; billing currently in cash only).

Each book can only be borrowed once for eight weeks. Extensions are not possible.

Should you want to borrow a book from our archives, we kindly ask for your patience should delays arise.

For the institute library the same terms and conditions apply as for the university library. The following fees are charged per item:

1st reminder EUR 2.00
2nd reminder EUR 5.00 (additionally)
3rd reminder EUR 10.00 (additionally)

For example, if the third reminder is issued for two books, reminder fees of €34.00 (2 * [€2.00 + €5.00 + €10.00] = €34.00) are due.
